Sherif named as a Head Coach for the Egyptian Swimming National Teams at June 2014, His Swimmer Ahmed Akram took the Gold Medal at 800 m Freestyle in Nanjing Olympic Games 2014, Akram is the first Egyptian swimmer in History win Gold Medal in Olympic Games. , Egyptian Team with Sherif Habib did amazing result at 2015 Swimming World championships in Kazan –Russia, First time in the History Three Egyptian Swimmers in the finial., Akram took the fourth Place in 1500 m Free style, and Farida Osman took Fifth in 50 Butterfly, Mohamed Khaled took sixteen (Semi Finial )in 200 m Individual Medley., The Egyptian Swimming Team made 15 new Egyptian records at the meet, Regarding the new local records Fina media said that Egyptian Team is the best team result at the meet.
2012-2014 – Swimming Head Coach, Al Ahly
Sherif he was the Swimming Teams Head Coach at club of the century in Africa Al Ahly Sporting Club in Cairo /Egypt., from November 2012 till May 2014, His athletes in Al Ahly swimming teams broke more than 18 national Egyptian records for the open age at the seasons 2012/2013 and 2013/2014, he prepared the most talented Egyptian swimmer Ahmed Akram, who is one of ranking youth swimmers in the swimming world.,
Sherif lived and worked in United Arab Emirates from 1999 till 2012, he was the Head Coach for the U.A.E National Swimming Teams from 1999 to 2003 and Head Coach for Al Ain Sports club – Alain City – Abu Dhabi from 2003 till 2009, and as a head coach for Al Wasl sports club in Dubai from 2010 till June 2012. His athletes won lots of medals when he was the National team head coach at different international championships (Gulf / Arab countries / West Asia), broke more than 120 national records. , with Alain club it was 6 years of success, won all the national championships for all ages, with lots of new records for U.A.E, 80 % at the national team from his team . He won with Al Wasl club also the national championship and took the cup as a best team in the year. Sherif was chosen the best swimming coach in U.A.E more than 10 times.
1993-1999
He was the head coach for the Egyptian National team for Handicapped from 1993-1999. He worked also as a senior coach for the girls at Al Ahly Sporting Club in Cairo from 1993 to 1999. His athletes in Egypt made lots of great results, won many medals at the Africa, Arab and Mideltrainian championships.
With the Egyptian swimming National team for handicapped Sherif achieved:
– 2 worlds records and won 2 Olympic medals (one silver and one bronze at Atlanta Olympic Game 1996),
– 7 medals at swimming world championships in Malta 1994 ( 2 gold , 2 silver ,and 3 bronze).
Sherif Habib is the author of Three books in swimming by Arabic., the first one is swimmer`s Nutrition was publication in 2001, The second one is Butterfly secrets was publication in 2008. The third is “Have a question in swimming” 2022.
