Sherif Habib

Sherif Habib professional journey started since my B.Sc.
degree in Electrical Power Engineering in 1987, till today in the years between
1993-1999 he was in charge of two of the most important swimming teams in
Egypt, which both succeeded to achieve extraordinary results.

Aside from Sherif Habib professional experience in national
and International coaching, he was internationally accredited in Sports
Management, he was a consultant for a number of sports companies in Egypt and
Dubai, in 2006 from the United Stated Sports Academy, got his Mini MBA in the
same title in 2009, ending with his Sports Management PHD from The American
University in London in 2012. Moreover, he was certified from the American
Swimming Coached association ASCA as level 5 Senior, age groups, and a Master
International Swimming Coach. 

  • The
    Egyptian National team for Handicapped
     (to which he was the
    Head Coach), scored 2 world records, and won 2 Olympic medals in Atlanta
    Olympic Game 1996 (A silver and a bronze), in addition to 7 medals in the
    swimming world championships in Malta 1994 (2 gold, 2 silver and 3
    bronze).
  • The
    Swimming Girls’ team at AlAhly Sporting Club
     (to which he was
    the senior coach in the club of the century in Africa); his swimmers
    achieved great results, gathered many medals on the African, Arab and
    Mediterranean Championships.

His story in the club of the century (El Ahly Sporting
Club), did not end in 1999, as he was chosen as The Head Coach for the Ahly
swimming teams from 2012 till 2014. During these years his swimmers broke more
than 18 National Egyptian records for the open age competition.

His path was directed for 13 years to the United Arab
Emirates, where he was in charge of three of the most important swimming
organizations.

  • The
    Head Coach for the UAE National Swimming Teams
    , from 1999 till
    2003, where his swimmers won lots of medals on national and regional
    levels in The Gulf, Arab and Asian countries.
  • The
    Head Coach for Al-Ain Sports Club Swimming Teams
     from 2003
    till 2009, where his swimmers achieved a huge success by winning all the
    National Championships for all ages, scoring new records for UAE, and
    providing Emirates National Team with 80% of the team players.
  • The
    Head Coach for Al Wasl Sports Club Swimming Teams
     from 2010
    till 2012, where the club was awarded to be the best UAE team in 2011,
    accordingly he was chosen to be the best swimming coach in UAE more than
    10 times.

During the years between 2014 and 2017, he shifted his
journey back to Egypt, where he was proudly chosen to be the Head
Coach for the Egyptian Swimming National Teams
. The team has
accomplished many success stories, set new records, and raised their overall
swimming levels. Those years were highly rewarded by winning ALL the Arab
Championships on youth and senior levels. Many success stories were written
during these years, that he would like to highlight some.

  • Leading
    the swimmer Ahmed Akram to win the Gold medal at 800m freestyle in Nanjing
    2014 Olympic Games in 2014, was a huge achievement as Akram was the first
    Egyptian swimmer ever to win an Olympic medal.
  • Scoring
    amazing records in the golden achievement year of 2015, was a great
    accomplishment for the Egyptian National Swimming Team in the World
    Championships in Kazan, Russia. Akram was the first Egyptian swimmer in
    history to be qualified for the 1500m. final competition where he reached
    the fourth rank. Moreover, Farida Osman ranked the fifth on the 50m
    butterfly. By her rank she reached an unprecedented accomplishment as the
    first Egyptian athlete lady in history.

Overall, the Egyptian Team won the best team in the world,
setting new national records breaking 15 Egyptian records; furthermore, the
National Youth swimming team won the African Swimming Championships for the
first time in 25 years.

 Achieving

  • the first medal in a world swimming championships in 2017, was a huge
    success won by Farida Osman in Budapest, Hungary. Farida finished the
    third on the 50m butterfly.

 Sherif Habib was the National Team Head Coach for 5 Olympic

teams presented in Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Nanjing 2014, Rio 2016, and Tokyo
2020. Moreover, he is the only Egyptian Swimming Coach who holds the First
Class Egyptian Order of Merit as swimming coach in 1996 and 2004.

 To satisfy his swimming and sports passion, as well as to

share my experience in the swimming world details. I published the “swimmers
Nutrition” book in 2001, the “Butterfly Secret” in 2008, and “Have A question
at swimming” in 2022.

Sherif Habib also established his own YouTube Channel (5
seba7a), to be one of the most successful swimming YouTube Channels in Arab
countries, where he explains his unique skill to the swimming analysis process.
